Inside sales representatives develop, maintain, and interact primarily utilizing the phone and other forms of electronic communication to new and existing
customers to increase sales of products and/or services.
Responsibilities:
- Display responsiveness and diligence while processing quotes, bids, and sales orders via emails, EDI, web portals, and phone calls. Acknowledge receipt of requests and provide periodic status updates when appropriate.
- Take pride and ownership in all portal items. This includes following up on quotes which have reached 30 days since entry date, and orders which may need to be expedited to ensure we meet our customers’ needs. When reviewing quotes and orders, log insufficient inventory through P21 to assist purchasing in making informed decisions.
- Take part in continuous web-based and in-person internal/external training sessions in pursuit of technical knowledge to better serve customers.
- Utilize and contribute to internal tools such as the buyout list in order to improve outsourcing miscellaneous material for customers.
- Work in tandem with account managers through emails, conference calls, web meetings and on-site visits to improve customer relationships.
- Provide warm and welcoming support to walk-in and will call customers.
- Assist warehouse team members with pulling & checking orders, receiving and staging inventory, and scheduling hot shot or motor freight shipments when appropriate.
- Improve company’s customer service by communicating with Branch Manager on any issues regarding inventory, customer relations, and vendor management.
- Seek and suggest ways the company can improve, and report these suggestions to branch manager. Be an active participant in your monthly branch meetings, especially when your suggestions are discussed.
- On a daily basis, provide the level of service you wish to receive from others. This is an all-encompassing practice which applies to all vendor and customer interactions, including sales marketing calls.
- Work closely with internal customers, such as accounting and IT, to assist in expedient problem resolution.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the inside sales position, including participation in the company’s 24/7 call-out plan, which helps set us apart from our competitors.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in sales, customer service, or marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is also beneficial
