A Process Operator controls and monitors equipment for product processing (like packaging, moving materials, operating machinery), ensuring safety and quality, and performing general maintenance, requiring skills in basic math, communication, teamwork, and often forklift operation.
Job duties
Must focus on efficient and safe operation of plant machinery, from raw material handling to finished product, with opportunities for on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Running and monitoring production equipment for salt processing and packaging.
- Material Handling: Moving raw materials, equipment, and finished products using forklifts or other means.
- Maintenance: Performing routine field inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Safety & Quality: Adhering to strict safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
- Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness and organization in production and warehouse areas.
Typical Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Skills: Ability to read/write English, basic math, computer skills, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and safety consciousness.
- Certifications: An active TWIC card and driver's license may be required for some roles.
Work Environment
- Shifts: Available in 8-hour or 12-hour shifts.
