GENERAL DUTIES:
x Ensures the segregation of un-inspected products by placing in a quarantine area. x
Responsible for verifying that information on the delivery paperwork is correct. x
Responsible for verifying quantity and quality of products received according to receiving copy of purchase order or Sales Personnel’s specifications from the customer. x
Responsible for inspecting, receiving, marking, and forwarding all production products to the correct departments. x
Responsible for notifying Sales Personnel of non-conformance with customer supplied material, i.e. shipment without notification, wrong quantity or quality difference. x
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or markers identifying shipping information on cartons, using markers or any other stenciling equipment. x
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. x
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged products, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages, and notifies Materials Manager to fill out a Customer/Supplier Non-conformance Report. x
Routes items to departments or sends items to Materials Manager. x
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. x
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. x
Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe working environment.
OTHER DUTIES: x
Operates fork lift truck or uses other types of lifting devises to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving bay to storage, work area or quarantine area. x
Loads and unloads shipping vehicle. x
Directs others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipment. x
(May) be required to prepare product for shipment. x
Perform any other temporary or permanent assignment that may be necessary. x
Responsible for any normal cleaning that may be necessary in the work environment (dusting computer, desk, label printer, file cabinets, etc.…).
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED - One year related work experience and/or training in an industrial environment working with complex and/or technical supplies and materials with high volume shipping and receiving. Works well with others, multi-task oriented, self- motivated, experienced in Word, Excel, and Windows, follows process flow charts, inspects to requirements and can take directions from supervisor(s)
Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
A team player attitude can give as well as take suggestions, aggressive work behavior and good attitude.
The employee is required to: x stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. x exert 20 to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or x exert 10 to 25 lbs of force frequently, and/or x exert up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
